About Me
I was born and raised in Hong Kong. Since I was a little girl, I was classically trained as a pianist and violinist. I picked up a new instrument – Erhu (which is also known as Chinese violin) when I was in high school, and I fell in love with its expressive and unique sound. Music has been a big part of my life ever since and I started to wonder – is there anything more that I could do with music?
After graduating from my Bachelor degree in Social Work, I moved to Cambridge (UK) to pursue my dream of changing other people’s lives through music as a music therapist. I obtained my Master of Arts in Music Therapy at Anglia Ruskin University in 2015 and started practicing as Registered Music Therapist under HCPC’s (UK regulatory body) guidelines.
I am passionate about working with young people. Later, I furthered my study at Cambridge University (Master of Education) to specialize in working with children and adolescents psychotherapeutically. I have worked in special needs and mainstream schools in the UK as the school music therapist, delivering individual and group music therapy sessions.
I also enjoy playing in an orchestra, recording my own songs, performing on stage, and jamming music with friends. My two cats are my most supportive audiences.
